Roses will grow and thrive without the benefit of your knowledge nevertheless, a bit of knowledge on their requirements will not hurt them at all. An important consideration is whether the succulent comes from a wet or dry area, the soil it is used to, and whether there is a lot of rainfall or very little. Organic materials hold the water longer, which is better for the plants.
They can grow from vines that reach a certain point and will stop growing. If you are not sure whether it is time to water, it is better not to water. If you are planting hedges that have not reached their mature height this may look too far away.
